Smile Africa is a day center and medical assistance center in Tororo, Uganda. They serve hundreds of Uganda’s poorest children from the Karomojong tribe. The center provides daily meals, medical assistance, early education, and income-generating training for women. 68 children who once lived full-time at the center have been resettled back into their communities through home visits by social workers. The total number of children in Smile’s program averages 420 per day. Smile Africa is located outside of town on a 5-acre plot and includes a kitchen, a metal pavilion with concrete floors for early education, open-air showers, a medical building, a training facility, and two structures for orphanages.
Smile Africa offers food aid, medical and education assistance, and vocational training for women and widows including hairdressing and tailoring.
Serving the greater Tororo area specifically children from the Karomojong tribe, single mothers, and widows.
Financial support towards allowances for the nurses and social workers, agriculture development teams for food and revenue, medical teams and medicine financial support of $4,000, Land for two Pastors to be able to have a permanent place to build their homes as well as grow their own food to take good care of their families.
